Why is the virtual image a separate download?

The virtual image includes evaluation copies of Microsoft software which expire after installation. We have to create a new virtual image periodically to make sure that you have an environment to perform the labs, regardless of when your purchased the DVD.

Do I need virtual image to start the training?

No, you can start watching presentations and demonstrations before you have the virtual image. Once you complete the download, you can do the lab section of the course.
