As with the 2007 DVD, we based the content of the 2010 DVD on what we teach in our public classes. The goal was to make SharePoint learning even simpler than what we have done in the past. We communicate more information in less presentation time and emphasize concepts and features that deliver value.

   Great training for Sharepoint 2010

This CBT training was a great starting point for learning Sharepoint. The instructors would use live examples of setting up Shatepoint.

I recommend this to anyone wanting to implement Sharepoint into their systems environment.

If you want to learn Sharepoint 2010, this is what you need. From regular user, to power user, to administrator to developer, its here. I can't say its all here, simply because Sharepoint is that big. You will see theory, real world examples and lab work. Rather than reading pages and pages of how to do things in Sharepoint from a book, pull out the DVD and watch the instructors do it. By the way, the instructors know what they are talking about. I attended their 5 day course, Andre and Duke (the instructors in the DVD) are knowledgeable, approachable, and got the right attitude in teaching the students and I think it shows on the DVD. This combination of skill and attitude is hard to come by these days.
  Surprisingly great

This is the best CBT I've ever used.
Before stating it, I was completely new to SharePoint.
After completing a half of the course I became rather proficient in my current project (customizing Microsoft SLK --SharePoint Learning Kit).
.
I strongly suggest downloading a disk image with preinstalled SharePoint and MS Visual Studio2005 to be run inside of VirtualPC (there is a link to company's web site with that file).
Playing along with course material helped me a lot.
It's worth every penny.

The presentation covers from set up to detailed development of lists, eventhandlers, and work flow. There is a load of information in the presentation, the presentations are then followed up with demonstrations. The DVD has a lab manual that can be used as a walk through after the demos to do the same things yourself. The DVD also has sample code and various SDKs for information on Sharepoint. The price is woth the sample code in itsself. The presentation is split up in easily accessible segments to review and re watch the segments you need to use as a refresher.
  Excellent tutorial - highly recommend!

These training videos are not only the best I have watched regarding SharePoint but the best training videos I have ever watched on any technical subject. The author breaks down complex concepts and makes them easy to understand. The demos are great and the entire tutorial is invaluable to understanding SharePoint. If you are administering or developing on SharePoint, this tutorial will fast-track your learning. Also check out the author's tutorial on SharePoint 2007 Fundamentals SharePoint 2007 Fundamentals: Interactive Training Course (DVD-ROM) - watch that one first.
Solid Material in Excellent Learning Tool

(22 June 2007) We just bought this at work and have started through it. The disappointing element is that we bought both this and the SharePoint 2007 Development DVD. All the material on the "Fundamentals" DVD is repeated on the "Development" DVD - so we blew an extra $299 for no reason. And of course we'd already opened both packages before noticing...

(3 August 2007 update) First comment: the author contacted me directly and offered a refund of the cost of the Fundamentals DVD. Given that I'm still going through the Development DVD and have loaned the Fundamentals DVD to a coworker, I will give kudos for the offer - but keep both copies! (Am I fickle or what?)

I also tried to upgrade my review to 4-5 stars (Amazon won't let me!). The material is solid and is great as an on-your-own replacement to a pricier class Microsoft might hold. I am getting many ideas for replacing legacy applications in my work environment. I had to play a little catchup to run the tutorials, so be prepared: you'll need an Office SharePoint Server 2007 environment (I'm using Microsoft Virtual PC as the author seems to) and Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007.

Whether your intent is to grow into a full-blown SharePoint developer or if you need a broader background on how SharePoint works and what its capabilities are, this will be a very good introduction.
Hands Down The Best SharePoint 2007 Training Period!!

I am heavily involved in SharePoint 2003 projects and will need to convert to MOSS 2007 etc and needed to learn SharePoint 2007 as quickly as possible. A fellow co-worker suggested I take a look at this product, and it was the best move I ever made. I have read numerous books, but this course actully lets you download a Virtual PC image so you can work through all of the examples as if you had SharePoint 2007 on your own PC! A must faster way to learn. The material is very well organized, explained well, and I also purchased the "Development DVD" version as well as I do some ASP.NET programming. It was also a good move.

Most impressve is their support. I usually get an e-mail response within minutes or hours if I have any questions or snags. Andre is Excellent at following up with you.

If you want to become an Expert with SharePoint 2007, and do it in a Fast Track manner, this is hands down the training DVD you need. Also if you do any development with SharePoint 2007, the extra money spent on the Developoment DVD worth every penny.

This is an indispensable tool that every SharePoint admin or developer must have.

I just finished taking this course at a nearby training facility and it was by far the best training on SharePoint I have ever seen. The material is well organized, and though not exhaustive, it is thorough.

The video segments could be more polished, but the were more than adequate and the demos were excellent.

Spring for the extra $100 for the Development DVD as all the Fundamentals material is covered there as well.

This is hands-down one of the best SharePoint 2003 training resources out there (and there are not many). Very comprehensive and covers a broad range of topics from the 101 Functional Usage, Design and Administration, and finally development, application building, and web part creation. Tons of demos and exercises/labs. The "freestyle" labs in the course are a perfect way to apply what you have just learned from the lecture/lab. This course will put the student in a grand position to fully understand SharePoint 2003 technology. Thank you! I cant wait for the SharePoint 2005 version to come out!!

I purchased this training video early on. I also took a class on SharePoint. I found that the video was much more comprehensive than the class, and covered SharePoint Portal and SharePoint Windows. The topics cover all the nuts and bolts of setting up and managing a SharePoint website. I would recommend it for anyone who is anticipating the installation of a SharePoint site or is in the early stages of building and managing a SharePoint site. Additionally the DVD on SharePoint 2003: Development is also comprehensive and very useful.

This DVD provides a great overview of all the important Share Point functionality with an easy to navigate menu allowing easy toggle between topics. As the IT Manager for a large construction firm, this DVD allows me to easily review only the topics I need to focus on. Continuous visual images of the narrator provide the feeling of being in a classroom environment although probably not critical to getting the message across. A great purchase for any company deploying SharePoint! Recommended.

Using the DVD helped me understand SharePoint much better then reading any book. The demonstrations are full sized and crisp, unlike other blurry screen capture training videos I have seen before. I was able to pause the demos and repeat the steps on SharePoint on the Virtual PC image. I loved working on the labs (hand on exercises) because they were consistent and easy to follow. However, some of the "free style exercises", which did not have instructions, were a bit hard. Took me over 2 weeks to finish all the topics. Overall the course structure is easy to follow and has broad coverage of the subject matter.
  Great interactive training!!!

The topics covered in the video are very in depth. The video also provides a URL that allows you to download a virtual pc image to follow along with demos and labs. This video should be enough to get even the most novice SharePoint users up and running.

This is a great training item for SharePoint. Perhaps my favorite thing about its design is the ease of which you can go back and review specific subjects. The presentations flow smoothly one from another, yet they are well segmented so that you can pick a specific topic of interest and review it. The table of contents directs you to each subject matter and the presentations are full of good information, not just theory.
  A Developer's Perspective

Reviewer:Jerry(Washington, DC)

I bought this course because I wanted a) a refresher on SharePoint configuration and b) an explanation of SharePoint customization and extension. This course not only succeeded on both counts, it provided far more.

Fundamentally, this course provides a high level overview of what SharePoint is and why one might use it. There is detailed discussion on the difference between SharePoint Portal and Windows SharePoint Services as well as the strengths and limitations of each product.

Where this course differs from other SharePoint courses, though, is in the richly detailed sections dealing with the SharePoint API. Clearly, Andre crafted this section with the .NET Developer in mind and it shows.

After you take this course, you will be able to install & configure SharePoint, write & deploy your own web parts and even feed SharePoint data to other websites in your organization (and vice versa). I can't recommend it highly enough.
 Great Training!! I mean it.
